After years of working in finance, including as a FTSE 100 senior executive, Richard has coached hundreds of senior executives all over the world. He is calm, pragmatic, steadfast and consistent.

Commercial Experience

Richard worked in financial services for 19 years. Initially he was a fund manager before moving into investment banking in various research and leadership roles. Most recently he was a senior executive in Old Mutual Securities (FTSE 100), where he led major culture change across four global locations. His company analysis experience gives him an-depth understanding of organisational strategic challenges.

Style / Approach

For 15 years, Richard has coached senior executives to make sustainable performance improvements in their organisations by enhancing their own capabilities to influence, lead and get results. He uses an existentialist approach, focused on pragmatic outcomes for the client. He has particular expertise in leading through transition, influencing skills, strategic leadership and coaching executives with ‘imposter syndrome’. His clients value his warm approach which allows him to make robust challenges in a non-threatening way, enabling rapid progress.

Coaching Experience

Richard has some 3000 hour experience in coaching senior organisational leaders and supervising other coaches. He has been a full-time executive coach and coach supervisor since 2003, coaching senior executives and board members especially in the financial sector. He works in the UK and overseas, delivering his work in a range of cross-cultural contexts in locations including Equatorial Guinea, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Mozambique, Norway, Russia and USA.
