Karen knows from her corporate experience that more is demanded of leaders for less. She understands the need for support, whether you are leading a programme of change, building a more cohesive team, or stepping up to get the results you want. She helps her clients find clarity and recognises when they need direction.

Commercial Experience

Karen has more than 25 years’ experience in corporate life. Her early career was spent in retail, where she enjoyed UK&I leadership roles with M&S before moving into outsourcing and offshoring as Client Services Director. She specialised in client development and employee transition, delivering business change programmes to international and global businesses within the legal and professional services marketplace for more than a decade.

Style/Approach

Karen has an integrated coaching style which draws on a number of theories and models. She is a client-centred coach with a preference to work at the level of awareness and insight. Her clients describe her as pragmatic and her coaching style is driven by compassion and deep listening. She is objective, balanced, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Karen has a particular interest in group dynamics and believes that the power of the collective (groups and teams) has never been more important. Her approach with groups combines schools of thought that have roots in Transactional Analysis (TA) Gestalt therapy, and Systems Psychodynamics.

Coaching Experience

Karen has been coaching for over 6 years and has more than 2000 coaching hours. She has worked with clients from culturally diverse backgrounds and from a range of disciplines, industries and geographies. Her clients span professional services, education, pharma, financial services, construction and retail. They are often in consulting, finance or senior technical roles and ate typically moving into main Board where their span of control and role complexity has changed. Her work with teams is focussed on the quality of interpersonal relationships, role (official and unofficial) and the distribution of power.
