With over 20 years’ experience of working at Board and Executive level, I now work with top teams on strategy and development, leadership performance, team dynamics and organisational change programmes.
Most of my career has been in Financial Services. As a member of the UK Executive and Board of Zurich Financial Services I was responsible for HR, corporate marketing, communications, legal, corporate planning and data management. I managed the HR aspects of a major acquisition, designing and implementing an integrated HR strategy which included executive and senior management leadership programmes, graduate schemes, performance management and a succession planning strategy.
As MD of the Zurich UK Personal Insurance business I worked with my executive team to reverse the trend of shrinking premium whilst maintaining profitability. In 1998, we won Personal Lines Insurer of the Year.
As MD of Zurich’s Strategic Partnerships business I led a review of two loss-making businesses which I resolved by integrating them (retaining key clients) and returned them to profitability with substantially improved employee engagement.
Working as a Board Member of Cofunds with a specific focus on Business Development, I led and implemented a strategic review of distribution taking a segmented approach to the market resulting in more focus on profitable growth.
