Asked by a board to support a new CEO in his efforts to set the vision, scope and GTM activities if an international fibre business. Undertook review of existing processes/resources, facilitated Exec Co. strategy sessions and coached CEO & sales leadership team, to build GTM and then to drive sales. Resulted in significant revenue improvement in 12 months and step change growth within 24 months.
Worked with Head of EMEA to develop EQ capabilities and drive business growth. Resulted in significant improvement in EMEA sales engagement and improved focus on strategic drivers.
Engaged as a ‘LAST RESORT’ to working with a banking GM (with issues around lack of fit, team retention and business growth). Developed a change in approach, communication style and execution, resulting in 37% divisional profit improvement and successful integration into top team, so much so that the coachee was promoted to Managing Director and given a significantly larger business unit.

Mike was a successful MD, HR & LDD, SD & GM for a high growth FTSE100 Tech Product and Services company, in addition to a range of other technology and services businesses. His CEO, MD, GM, Sales Coaching, Board Advisory & Facilitation experience broadened to include other sectors including Mobile, Encryption, Digital Content, Payment, Fibre, Professional Services, Shared Services, Online, Retail & Banking.
Style and coaching approach
Mike’s coaching style is direct, supportive and action orientated. He provides a critical ear and a sometimes challenging, sounding board. He uses his previous experience, high EQ awareness and the capability of the coachee, to guide, discover, define and then execute the most appropriate actions to achieve the desired results. Mike is a Cognitive Behavior Coach and Hogan Leadership Personality Assessor by education, so has the tools to develop change, as well as the experience and credibility of having sat ‘in the seat’.
