Katie is a coach and facilitator who specialises in supporting leaders and technical experts to develop their personal effectiveness, relationships, impact and influence to achieve the results they want.
She combines her commercial and professional experience with her understanding of positive psychology, emotional intelligence, team dynamics and learning and change technologies, to offer a range of interventions, coaching and courses.  She is committed to helping her clients to acquire the personal skills and self-esteem they need to bring out the best in themselves and succeed in a complex working world.

Experience

Katie has 25 years’ experience in managing and developing people in a wide range of organisations, countries and cultures. Her corporate career spanned roles in HR, OD and Change Management within Insurance, Retail and Investment Banking where she led and supported teams and individuals through major organisational changes, mergers and acquisitions.
After studying NLP Katie later decided to specialise in development and became an independent consultant, coach and facilitator. For the last 12 years, she has worked in a wide variety of commercial and not for profit organisations on high profile and challenging people related projects.
She has worked across the EAMA region as well as in the UK and US for clients including Bank of England, House of Commons, Swiss Re, Dole Fresh UK, BM,  Abellio, European Patent Office, HSBC, Shire, Financial Conduct Authority, GFI, Cancer Research UK, Sony Ericsson, Whitbread, GI Group, InHealth, Macmillan Publishing, GDF Suez and Jaeger.

Katie is particularly interested in emotional intelligence, positive psychology, impact and influence and interpersonal communication and how these can enhance relationships, performance and wellbeing at work.  She is always keen to support women with the specific challenges they face in their careers, particularly in male-dominated industries, and regularly coaches women to use their strengths to enhance their confidence, impact and results.

She is the author of “The Professional Woman’s Guide to Giving Employee Feedback” (Impackt Publishing 2014).

Qualifications / Accreditations

Katie is a chartered member of the CIPD, has a first degree in Social Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management.   She is a Master Business Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), a Certified Success Coach and is qualified to use a range of psychometric tools to facilitate improved self-awareness, confidence and individual and team effectiveness. These include OPQ, Saville Wave Professional Styles, Strengthscope, Hogan Leadership Potential Inventory, Hogan Development Survey, MBTI, Pearson Marr Archetypal Indicator and Lumina Spark.  She is also an accredited facilitator for Blessing White, Helping Others Succeed.

Examples of Work

Delivered Impact and Influence Training and Coaching to highly skilled technical experts and relationship managers with high profile regulatory bodies.
Designed and facilitated a team effectiveness event for the global marketing and sales function (75) for Macmillan Publishing who were undergoing major organisational change.
Led the skills and attitude workstream of a global change programme for a major financial services organisation underpinning the restructure of their central IT helpdesk.
Coached a Board Member to enhance confidence and personal impact during a challenging organisational change.
Provided high quality developmental psychometric & leadership feedback to senior executives within the Abu Dhabi Civil Service as part of a Leadership Development Programme.
Developed & implemented a Strengths-Based Leadership Development Programme within Eldon Housing Association.
Delivered a range of 1-to-1 and workshop based outplacement interventions for individuals dealing with change, facing redundancy or looking for new employment. Included large scale projects within NHS England and HSBC.

 

As this was such a success, the client requested a further session with Helen to work on another upcoming presentation.
‘Presenting with Impact’ Session, Pharmaceutical Plc:
Helen ran a session on ‘Presenting With Impact’ at an international conference for 40 Diabetes Consultants. This event was part of a 2-day conference during which the Consultants learnt about a new Diabetes medicine. As the Consultants would be presenting this new medicine to their colleagues, the organisation were keen that they have some coaching on the best way to engage their audiences.
Helen’s session was both entertaining and informative and the delegates were enthusiastic both during and after the session. The overall feedback was very positive; the delegates had enjoyed the light relief in amongst a rather intense conference, and had seen the value and relevance of their work.
Tutorial with Head of Corporate Practice UK and Head of Financial Services, Hill & Knowlton (Public Relations):
Helen worked with the above two clients on how to increase their confidence and impact in meetings and presentations. These clients spend a lot of time pitching and so the session focused on ways to influence their audiences. Both clients managed to increase their sense of authority and gravitas during the session.
Workshops for The Royal Household, Buckingham Palace:
Helen has run a number of workshops for members of The Royal Household on increasing personal impact, both when interacting with members of the public and during internal meetings and presentations. The workshops were very successful and the delegates were consistently surprised at the results they managed to achieve.
