Claire worked for BUPA in two roles – Business Development Manager and Human Resources Manager. Her next position was as a Senior Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

For over 20 years she has specialised in Leadership and Management Development, in particular helping individuals and teams have the right conversations to move their business and people forward. She believes that good business processes only operate effectively if people can work well together in an environment of mutual trust, understanding and respect.

Experience

Claire has worked with a wide variety of large private organisations in sectors as diverse as pharmaceutical, legal, financial, and manufacturing. She has also worked extensively for large national public sector clients and is very aware of different organizational cultures and challenges this can bring.

She typically works with mid to senior managers and leaders as well as specialist individual contributors.

She is used to working with diverse groups, global and virtual teams as well those organisations that operate in a more traditional ‘siloed’ regional basis.

Style / Approach

Claire is very pragmatic.  Her approach to development is that it should make sense and be actionable in the participant’s world. Sound concepts and theories will underpin much of her work, but this is delivered in a refreshingly jargon-free way.

Examples of Work

Challenging conversations programmes – either stand-alone, or integrated within business processes such as performance review, or within larger leadership programmes. The programmes frequently involve work with actors to provide additional emotional impact in embedding learning.

Influencing and impact programmes for two major international law firms. Learning is embedded by follow-up support calls and action learning sets. Delivery in the UK was so successful the programmes have now been rolled out to continental Europe, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Global leadership programme for senior leaders for major service industry. Delivered in USA, UK and Spain. Programme was a combination of face to face modules, webinar delivery and a business simulation. Success of the first programme resulted in larger demand from other parts of the business for subsequent programmes

Self-awareness programmes for large public sector clients. These continue to be a fundamental requirement for those entering management and leadership roles.

Designed and delivered many introductions to management and emerging leaders’ programmes – varying in size and duration.

Change leadership programme for global drinks group to support business reconfiguration. The success of the programme created demand from other parts of the business for further specific iterations of the programme.
